The story

Sam Ugochukwu, known as Sam Yugos, was born on 18 February 1985 in Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria, and hails from Abia State. His journey in music started in the choir of Foursquare Gospel Church.

In 2010 he released his first single, “You Are God”. Since then he has ministered in churches, conferences and Christian programmes in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and beyond, with songs like Miracle, Glad, Idinma, God All by Yourself, Lord You Reign and Jehovah Amiga.

For Sam, music is life, and worship is more than a song. He believes that when praises go up, lives are transformed: hearts are lifted, burdens are broken, hope is restored, and people are drawn closer to God.

“O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

Psalm 34:3 · KJV

The message

Worship is more than a song

Sam's desire is simple: that people will meet God, not just hear music. He sings contemporary gospel and Nigerian worship, in English and Igbo, always built on the word of God.
